Darrell Hayes

Darrell purchased his first bike in 2006 even though he had learned how to ride on a friend's Honda 300 almost 35 years prior. Darrell's thought? "Such is life". A Yamaha V Star 1300T is his current and most comfortable ride. His last bike was a Suzuki C50. He joined PARR in spring 2011 and really enjoys the quality of the PARR riders and the thought that goes into the rather fun day rides. In the past few years, he has spent a week riding the roads around Elkins, WV, another week down near Roanoke, VA, time near Hancock, MD, and another week near Gettysburg, PA. He currently teaches at American University in the School of Communication and enjoys playing with his grandson. From his house in Alexandria, it doesn't take much time to find some favorite rides - even cruising the George Washington Memorial Parkway is rather grand if you go the entire distance from Mt Vernon to the American Legion Bridge.
