Jack Moar

Jack moved to Northern Virginia in 1998 and joined PARR in 1999. He was a member of the Retreads in Long Island and, upon moving to NoVA, joined a local Retreads chapter here. Jack felt that the local Retreads chapter did not have much in the way of activities, and in his search for a more active club he came across PARR's website. He contacted Dick Merrill, who was Vice President at the time, and Dick provided information about PARR and invited Jack to the next meeting. Jack has been an active PARR member ever since.

Jack's first bike was a Suzuki 250 X-6 Hustler upon which he learned to ride in 1964. He sold the bike two years later when he answered the call from Uncle Sam. Twenty years later, after raising a family, Jack again desired to see the east coast on two wheels and purchased a used 1981 Kawasaki 750 LTD. He rode the LTD for a couple of years before buying a 1991 Honda ST1100, which was his main ride for 11 years. This is the bike that he owned when he joined PARR. Jack's current motorcycle is a black 2002 GL1800 Goldwing which he feels is better suited to the type of riding he does with our group.

Jack loves the PARR tours and the camaraderie they bring; he tries to participate in as many of them as possible. With PARR's two scheduled day rides each month, overnight tours and pick-up rides, Jack says he has no problem getting enough time on his bike!
